Welcome to the Namadgi Sports Flyers Club

The Namadgi Sports Flyers Club (NSFC) is a club for RC Aero modellers located in a picturesque rural setting, close to the Namadgi National Park on the southern outskirts of Canberra. We are affiliated with the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia and provide facilities for flying both helicopters and fixed wing models.

Our most popular flying day is Sunday however, weather permitting, you are likely to find a few lucky souls flying at our Tharwa field on most week days. Visitors heading for the Namadgi National Park frequently pause on their journey to enjoy the sight. Our members take pride in maintaining a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and are only too happy to take the time to chat with visitors and explain the mysteries of our sport.

Flyers from other MAAA-affiliated aeromodelling clubs are also welcome.

Our members fly the full range of model aircraft from gliders to jets powered with anything from rubber bands to Nitro. We hold a number of club competition days each year, so keep an eye on our Upcoming Events as they provide the best opportunity for seeing those "special" models that are usually kept in the hanger, securely wrapped in cotton wool.

Most of our fixed wing flying takes place at our Tharwa field while our nearby facility at Williamsdale is dedicated to the rotary wing models.

Maps showing the location of the fields can be viewed by using the FAQ link at the top of the page.
